Two set-ups, depending on who is coming
Grandparents with their grandchildren
This is the school-holiday classic: Granny and Grandpa take the little ones away while the parents are at work. One flat is enough. The grandparents take the bedroom with the 160 cm bed, the children the one with two single beds, which can be pushed together to make a large bed. A baby can come too: the travel cot, high chair and baby bath are already there.
Three generations under one roof
To bring grandparents, parents and children together, book Hélios and Cassiopée as a pair: 8 guests, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and two fully equipped kitchens. Each family has its own front door, its own timetable and its own bathroom, and everyone meets for meals round the big wooden table in one of the two sitting rooms. The grandparents can turn in early without being woken by the cousins; the parents get the terrace to themselves once the children are asleep.
Upstairs flats: worth knowing before you book
Both flats are on the upper floors of the Art Deco villa: Hélios on the first floor, Cassiopée on the second, both reached by the stairs. If one of the grandparents finds stairs difficult, put them in Hélios and keep Cassiopée, with its south-west-facing balcony, for the younger ones. Another useful detail: in each bathroom the shower is over the bath, with a shower curtain. If you have any questions about access, drop Charles a line before booking via the contact page.
What the grandchildren will find
- A full set of baby equipment: high chair, travel cot, baby bath and child-friendly crockery.
- Toys and books for the end of the day and for rainy spells.
- A fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher) for teatime and for meals at children's hours.
- A washing machine for sandy clothes, so you can pack light.
- A terrace with a barbecue for eating outside on fine evenings.
- Fibre wifi and a TV, for an evening cartoon or a video call to the parents back home.
With a toddler in tow, our guide to Le Touquet with a baby brings together our practical tips: the beach with a pushchair, playgrounds and what to pack.
A flat resort where everything is on foot
This is what makes Le Touquet so easy at any age: the town is flat and the villa is right in the centre. The beach is about 300 m away, rue Saint-Jean and its shops 200 m. On the wide, paved seafront promenade, grandparents and children move at the same pace: it is as easy to push a buggy along as it is to stop on a bench and watch the sea. The bakery, the market and the ice-cream parlour are all reachable without the car, and older children can cycle through the forest on paths kept apart from the road. You will find ideas sorted by age on our page about Le Touquet with children.
A quiet house that suits everyone's rhythm
The villa contains only our two flats. Sound carries in the house, so quiet hours run from 10 pm to 9 am and parties are not allowed, which suits afternoon naps and grandparents' nights alike. Each flat takes a maximum of 4 guests plus a baby; book both and the whole villa is your family's.
Prices and practicalities
Each flat costs from €140 a night, with a two-night minimum, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee (bed linen and towels supplied). For three generations, allow for both flats. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am. Book direct and you pay less than on Airbnb and, subject to availability, we offer an early check-in or late check-out, which is welcome with children tired from the journey. Live availability and exact rates are on the booking page. For a larger gathering, see our guide to a family reunion in Le Touquet.
Charles's tip: set one or two fixed moments each day, such as tea on the terrace or an evening stroll along the promenade, and leave the rest free. The children get time with their grandparents, and the grandparents are not on childcare duty from dawn to dusk.
Frequently asked questions
Where should grandparents stay with their grandchildren in Le Touquet?
A two-bedroom flat is enough for two grandparents and two grandchildren, plus a baby: a 160 cm bed in one room, two singles in the other. Our flats Hélios and Cassiopée are 300 m from the beach.
Can three generations stay together in Le Touquet?
Yes, by booking Hélios and Cassiopée together: up to 8 guests, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and two kitchens in the same villa.
Are the flats on the ground floor?
No: Hélios is on the first floor and Cassiopée on the second, both reached by the stairs. Hélios is the easier option for anyone who struggles with steps.
Is baby equipment provided?
Yes: high chair, travel cot, baby bath, child-friendly crockery, toys and books in each flat.
Do we need a car once we are in Le Touquet?
No. The town is flat, the beach is about 300 m away and the shops of rue Saint-Jean 200 m: everything is on foot.
