The covered market in the town centre is held on Saturday mornings (also Monday and Thursday in season). The Quentovic square market on Sundays is smaller and less touristy, with a lovely selection including the permaculture grower.

Sports

  • Sailing & board sports: Base Sud or Base Nord — paddle, surf, sand yachting and sailing hire and lessons
  • Pool at the tennis club, heated outdoor in season
  • Running: up to Base Nord then along the beach (you may spot seals)
  • Tennis, padel, golf, riding, beach yoga…

Walks and hikes

  • Rue Saint-Jean, the shopping street, and the Hermitage quarter (galleries and antiques)
  • The seafront boardwalk, the Canche estuary promenade
  • Superb hikes in the Canche Bay reserve — white dune

  • Le Touquet Museum — permanent and temporary exhibitions
  • Maréis (Étaples) and Nausicaá, Europe's largest aquarium
  • Piano festival, cinema, art galleries
  • Spa Nuxe (Westminster) and Novotel thalasso

Around Le Touquet

  • Wimereux — Belle Époque resort, 1.5 km promenade, great for families
  • Wissant — 12 km beach between Cap Blanc-Nez and Cap Gris-Nez, a kitesurfing paradise
  • Montreuil-sur-Mer — medieval ramparts, gastronomy (Alexandre Gauthier's restaurants)
