The real question: where does everyone sleep?

When you search for a family hotel by the sea, the underlying question is usually the same: how do two adults, two children and a baby share a stay without everyone going to bed at 8 pm? In a hotel, the answer is generally a family room or two interconnecting rooms, with a cot on request. In an apartment, everyone has their own space.

At Villa Mon Étoile in Le Touquet, each of our two apartments (Hélios and Cassiopée) measures 55 m² with two separate bedrooms: a 160 cm double for the parents, two single beds for the children and a travel cot for the baby.

What a hotel does better

To be fair, a good family hotel has real advantages. The room is made up every day, breakfast is served, the restaurant means nobody has to cook in the evening and reception is there at any hour. For a single night, or if you want a holiday with no chores at all, a hotel is often the right call.

What an apartment changes with a baby

  • One bedroom for the parents, one for the children: the baby's nap and bedtime no longer set everyone's evening.
  • A kitchen to prepare purées and bottles on the baby's timetable, with a high chair and children's tableware.
  • A washing machine for sandy clothes, so you pack fewer bags.
  • Baby kit already there: travel cot, baby bath, toys and books.
  • A terrace with barbecue for dinner outside while the little ones sleep next door.

For more ideas, our guide to Le Touquet with a baby covers outings for the very young, and our page on family holiday rentals in Le Touquet introduces the apartments.

And the budget for four?

Hotel prices are usually per room per night, with breakfast often charged per person, and a family sometimes needs two rooms. Here, the price is for the whole apartment, from €140 a night, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee (sheets and towels supplied). Meals are not included. Compare the total cost of your stay, food included, rather than the nightly rate alone. Exact prices for your dates are on the booking page.

Coming with grandparents or another family? Both apartments can be booked together for 8 guests: see our page on family get-togethers in Le Touquet.

Charles's tip: with a little one, leave the high chair, travel cot and baby bath at home: they are already here. Save the boot space for the pushchair and the beach toys.
