The two flats are let separately, so one may be free when the other is taken: check both. The minimum stay is 2 nights, enough for a proper weekend by the sea.

The price is shown for your dates, from €140 a night, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee per stay and the tourist tax per adult. A question before you confirm, about arrival time for instance? A quick call will do; the number is on this page.

When last-minute works best

PeriodBook last-minute?
Midweek, October to March, outside French school holidaysThe ideal time: the resort is quiet and there is plenty of availability.
Off-season weekendsOften possible, but look a few days ahead rather than the night before.
Easter, the May bank holidays, sunny spring weekendsIn high demand: better to book several weeks ahead.
July, August and school holidaysPlan ahead: the best weeks go early.
Big events (Enduropale, Christmas and New Year)Book months ahead: see our Le Touquet events calendar.

In other words, last-minute is a great idea for a two- or three-night midweek break in autumn or winter: huge empty beaches, sunsets over the Channel, and restaurants where you can still find a table without booking far ahead. For a July weekend, on the other hand, plan ahead.

What does an off-season last-minute break look like? A lie-in, a bike ride through the pine forest, lunch near rue Saint-Jean, then the beach at sunset. And if the weather turns, there are plenty of things to do in Le Touquet, indoors and out.

An easy arrival, even if you decided yesterday

  • Keys on site: no meeting to arrange, and arrival and departure are flexible depending on the calendar.
  • Sheets and towels provided: no bedding or bath towels to pack.
  • Equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, Nespresso) and the shops of rue Saint-Jean 200 m away: no need to fill the boot.
  • Baby kit already there: high chair, travel cot, baby bath, toys and books.
  • 8 Gb/s fibre wifi: leave on a Thursday and work from the flat on Friday.

What to pack

The Opal Coast has a climate of its own, changeable and breezy. For a quick getaway, remember:

  • a windproof jacket and a warm layer, even in summer, for evenings on the promenade;
  • shoes that don't mind wet sand or forest paths;
  • swimwear and beach towels if the forecast allows;
  • sun cream and sunglasses: the wind makes you forget the sun;
  • buckets, spades and kites for the children, as the beach at low tide is vast.

Everything else is on the spot. To fill two days without any planning, borrow from our ideas for a weekend in Le Touquet, and for the journey see getting to Le Touquet: about 2 hrs 30 from Paris and around an hour from the Channel Tunnel terminal at Calais.

Charles's tip: if you are torn between two weekends, check the tide tables as well as the weather. A big low tide in the late afternoon promises an unforgettable walk on the beach.
