October half-term and Toussaint 2026 dates
Our half-term overlaps with France's Toussaint holidays this year. All three French school zones break up on Saturday 17 October 2026 and go back on Monday 2 November, while Belgian families follow on: two weeks for French-speaking schools from 19 October, then the Flemish autumn break in early November. In practice, Le Touquet is busy with families from mid-October to 8 November.

Why spend half-term in Le Touquet
Autumn suits the Opal Coast. The vast beach is at its best at low tide, the forest turns gold and the sunsets over the Channel come early enough for children to see them before tea. The resort also runs a Halloween programme through the holidays, with a parade on Saturday 24 October and a pumpkin carving contest on Monday 26 October. Towards the end of the break, Le Touquet International Art Fair (29 October to 1 November) and the 30th Touquet Bike & Run (1 November) bring a buzz to town, and nature lovers can book a guided walk to see seals and birds in the Bay of Canche. Do check the details before you travel in our events calendar.
For a feel of the resort out of season, with markets, breezy walks and restaurants open all year, see our guide to Le Touquet in winter.
Book now: our advice
The French holidays begin on 17 October, so if you have not booked yet, now is the time. Availability for Hélios and Cassiopée is shown live on our booking page: if your dates are free, you can book straight away.
- Check both flats: they are let separately, so one may be free when the other is taken.
- Be flexible: the minimum stay is 2 nights, which makes it easier to fit a short break between two bookings.
- Look at the second week (26 October to 1 November), or early November once French pupils are back at school.
- Arrive midweek: Saturdays are the most requested changeover days.
Prices depend on your dates: from €140 a night, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee per stay (sheets and towels supplied). Booking direct costs less than on Airbnb, and early check-in or late check-out is offered whenever the schedule allows. Otherwise, check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am.
A proper self-catering flat for the autumn break
Each 55 m² flat, fully renovated, sleeps 4 plus a baby: one bedroom with a 160 cm bed, one with two single beds, and a bathroom with a bath and a washing machine, handy after a walk through damp dunes. The kitchen is fully equipped (oven, dishwasher, Nespresso), fibre wifi takes care of film night when it rains, and the terrace with barbecue comes into its own on fine days. A high chair, travel cot and baby bath are already there.
Two families, or grandparents joining you? Book Hélios and Cassiopée together for up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms: see our page on holiday rentals for 8. One thing to know: sound carries in the house, parties are not allowed and quiet hours run from 10 pm to 9 am. Ideal for a family half-term, less so for a Halloween party.
Charles's tip: pack a costume. On Saturday 24 October the Halloween parade makes its way through town, and the villa is a short walk from rue Saint-Jean: the children can dress up in the flat and join in on foot.
