Three courses, one resort

Everything happens at Le Touquet Golf Resort, on avenue du Golf at the southern end of the resort, between the pine forest and the dunes. Three courses with quite different characters, enough for a long weekend without getting back in the car:

CourseFormatCharacter
La Mer18 holes, opened 1931A true links in the dunes, exposed to the wind, the toughest of the three
La Forêt18 holes, opened 1904The historic course, among the pines, sheltered on windy days
Le Manoir9 holesShorter, for an evening round or beginners

A handicap is required, stricter for La Mer than for La Forêt, while Le Manoir welcomes beginners. At the time of writing, the operator's website asks for a handicap index below 28 for La Mer, 35 for La Forêt and 54 for Le Manoir: check when you book your tee times. The resort also has a driving range, a putting green and a clubhouse with a restaurant. For the history of the courses and nearby clubs, see our guide to golf in Le Touquet.

How to house 4 or 8 golfers

Four of you: one flat

Each 55 m² flat has two bedrooms: one with a 160 cm bed, the other with two singles that can be kept apart or pushed together. Perfect for two couples, or a couple and two friends. Four mates who each want their own bed? Book both flats instead: everyone gets a bed of their own, with room to spare in the sitting rooms.

Six or eight: the whole villa

Book Hélios and Cassiopée together and you have 4 bedrooms (two 160 cm beds, four singles), 2 bathrooms and two kitchens, for a maximum of 8 guests. Two fourballs, one flat each, and a big table for dinner: the classic golf trip with friends. See also our page on a holiday rental for 8.

What matters on a golf break

  • The resort is about 3 km away: under 10 minutes by car for an early tee time.
  • A washing machine and clothes airer for polo shirts and waterproofs.
  • A fully equipped kitchen and a Nespresso machine for breakfast before the first tee.
  • A terrace with a barbecue for evenings when nobody wants to go out again.
  • The restaurants of rue Saint-Jean 200 m away, on foot, to toast the best score.
  • Fibre wifi for booking tee times and keeping an eye on the forecast.

The house is quiet, too: quiet hours run from 10 pm to 9 am and parties are not allowed. Rather good news when you are teeing off early the next morning.

Practical tips

  • Book tee times early, especially for La Mer at weekends and in summer.
  • Watch the wind: in a strong westerly, La Forêt is the more pleasant round; save La Mer for the calmest day.
  • Pack for rain: waterproofs, spare gloves and waterproof shoes, whatever the season on the Opal Coast.
  • Mix up the courses: Hardelot golf club is about 30 minutes north, for a third day in a different style.
  • Think of non-golfers: the beach, cycling in the forest and the market keep them busy during the round. Ideas on our things to do in Le Touquet page.

Prices and arrival

Each flat costs from €140 a night, with a two-night minimum, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee. For four golfers, two nights therefore come to from €330 for the flat, roughly €82.50 each, green fees not included. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am. Book direct and you pay less than on Airbnb, and subject to availability we offer an early check-in, to drop the bags before an afternoon nine holes, or a late check-out. Live availability on the booking page.

Charles's tip: with eight of you, book two tee times for two fourballs a few minutes apart rather than waiting for a single slot, and meet up at the clubhouse for lunch. In the evening, a barbecue on the terrace solves the problem of finding a restaurant table for eight.
