What July and August feel like

In summer, Le Touquet lives outdoors. Colourful beach huts line the sand, children build castles at low tide, sand yachts race along the shore and the promenade stays lively until the late sunset. The forest gives cyclists some shade, the café terraces of rue Saint-Jean are always busy and market days draw everyone in. In August, the golf course hosts the Touquet Classic Amateur, and the season ends to music with the Touquet Music Beach Festival, celebrating its 10th edition in late August. For up-to-date dates, see our events calendar.

From Villa Mon Étoile, everything is on foot: the beach is about 300 m away, the shops 200 m. The car stays parked all week, a real luxury in high summer.

Book early, and by the week

For July and August, the rule is simple: the earlier you book, the more choice you have. Many families secure their summer dates in winter or spring.

  • Book your week as soon as your leave is confirmed: the calendars for Hélios and Cassiopée are live on our booking page.
  • A week or more is the best way to enjoy summer without rushing. Our advice on longer stays is on weekly stays and remote working.
  • Consider the shoulder weeks: late June, or the end of August and early September, when the sea is still pleasant and the resort calmer.
  • Stay flexible: the two flats are let separately, and a few free nights between bookings can make a lovely short break (2 nights minimum).

Nightly rates vary with the season and are shown for your dates: from €140 a night, plus a €50 cleaning and linen fee per stay (sheets and towels supplied). Booking direct costs less than on Airbnb, and early check-in or late check-out is offered whenever the schedule allows; otherwise, check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am.

A summer week in a proper flat

For a week at the beach, each 55 m² flat has what you need: two bedrooms (a 160 cm bed and two singles), a bathroom with a bath, a washing machine and an airer for swimwear, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso) and a terrace with barbecue for summer suppers. Fibre wifi at 8 Gb/s lets one parent work for a few days if needed, and baby equipment is already there.

For a big group, book Hélios and Cassiopée together: 8 people, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, see our page on rentals for 8. Worth knowing for groups of friends: sound carries in the house, parties are not allowed and quiet hours run from 10 pm to 9 am.

Charles's tip: in summer, do your shopping early in the morning and save the late afternoon for the beach. Once the daytime crowds head home, the light is beautiful, and supper on the terrace is only a few minutes' walk away.
