The Touquet Classic, May's big equestrian event
Every year in May, the Le Touquet-Paris-Plage equestrian park on avenue de la Dune-aux-Loups hosts its international show jumping competition, the Touquet Classic. Rated CSI 3*, it runs over four days and brings together several hundred horses and riders from around twenty nations, building up to the Sunday Grand Prix. In 2026 it took place from 7 to 10 May.
The 2027 dates have not been published yet: they usually appear in spring on the tourist office website. To see where the competition falls in the year, check our Le Touquet events calendar, and if you fancy a ride yourself, read our guide to horse riding in Le Touquet.
Why stay at Villa Mon Étoile for the show jumping
- The equestrian park is about 1 km away: a fifteen-minute walk through the Quentovic district, with no car to move between classes.
- The beach is 300 m away and rue Saint-Jean 200 m: between rounds, a stroll on the sand or lunch on a café terrace.
- A whole 55 m² apartment, fully renovated, with an equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher, Nespresso) and a washing machine: handy for several days of competition.
- Two apartments in the same Art Deco villa: up to 8 guests, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms when you book both.
- 8 Gb/s fibre wifi to follow the live results or catch up on a little work.
Villa Mon Étoile is an Art Deco house from the 1920s, listed among Le Touquet's “remarkable villas”. Hélios is on the first floor and Cassiopée on the second: each has two bedrooms (one 160 cm bed and two 90 cm singles), a bathroom and a terrace with a barbecue for relaxed dinners after a day at the arena.
Book early for Grand Prix weekend
The competition falls in May, a month of French bank holidays and long weekends when the resort is in high demand. The safest approach is to secure your dates as soon as they are announced, with at least two nights (our minimum stay) to enjoy several days of jumping. Availability is shown in real time on our booking page.
Booking direct with Charles, the owner, gets you the best price, lower than on Airbnb. Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out by 11 am, but direct guests are offered early check-in and late check-out, subject to availability: ideal for arriving before the first classes or leaving after the prize-giving. All the perks are explained on booking direct.
Our tips for enjoying the competition
- Walk or cycle there: the equestrian park sits at the entrance to the resort, on the Canche bay side, a short way from the centre.
- Pack a windproof jacket: in May the air stays cool by the Canche, especially late in the day.
- Travelling with children? No need to bring everything: high chair, travel cot, baby bath, toys and books are provided.
- Keep half a day for the beach, the forest or the lighthouse: there is more to Le Touquet than the arena.
Charles's tip: on Saturday morning, before the big classes, take a walk on the beach at low tide, then stroll over to the equestrian park through the Quentovic district. In the evening, dinner on rue Saint-Jean, two minutes from the villa: the car won't have moved all weekend.
