Parking in Le Touquet: where to park, zones, prices and tips

In short
In Le Touquet, the town centre (red zone) is paid all year round, while the green zone is only paid at weekends, on public holidays, during French school holidays (zones B and C) and in July and August. Paid parking applies from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 7 pm, and several free car parks lie on the edge of the forest, a 10 to 15-minute walk from the centre.
To park in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, remember three colours: red for the shopping centre, paid every day of the year, green for the residential neighbourhoods, paid only at busy times, and white for the large free car parks on the edge of the forest. Paid parking only applies during the day, with a free break at lunchtime.
Here is how the system works, where to find a space depending on the season and how to do without the car once you're settled in.
Red zone, green zone, white zone: how it works
Every year the town publishes a parking plan that divides the resort into three zones. The rules below are those displayed by the town hall for 2026; prices may change, so check them on site or on the town's website.
| Zone | Where | When you pay | Hourly rate 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | Shopping heart: rue Saint-Jean and neighbouring streets, around the covered market, avenue du Verger, part of the seafront | Every day of the year | €2 per hour for the first 7 hours, €16 for the 8th hour |
| Green | Most of the residential neighbourhoods around the centre | Weekends, public holidays, long bank-holiday weekends, French school holidays (zones B and C), and every day from 1 July to 31 August | €1 per hour for the first 7 hours, €18 for the 8th hour |
| White | Large car parks on the outskirts of the centre | Never: free all year round | Free |
Paid hours
In the red and green zones, you pay from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 7 pm. Parking is therefore free in the evening, overnight, early in the morning and during the lunch break. The very expensive 8th hour is designed to discourage cars that never move: for a full day, it's better to aim for the white zone or the stay rate.
The green zone stay rate
In the green zone only, a stay rate (tarif séjour) lets you pay €25 for one day of parking, with the following day free. It's the simplest option for a two-day weekend if you don't want to move the car. If you forget to pay or overstay, the post-parking charge is €30 in the red zone and €25 in the green zone.

Free car parks and good tips
The town hall announces more than 8,000 parking spaces in the town centre, several hundred of which are free all year round. The main free car parks in the white zone are:
- the equestrian park car park, on the edge of the forest, by far the largest;
- the avenue Sanguet car park, near the tennis centre and the salle des 4 Saisons (around 145 spaces);
- the airport car park, further out, handy if you hire a bike there.
From the first two, allow around ten minutes on foot to reach the centre, a little more for the beach. Other free options exist for short stops:
- the "statio-minutes" spaces signposted in the centre, free but limited to 1 hour (or 15–30 minutes for some), ideal for a quick errand;
- the beach car parks, between the former Aqualud and the centre nautique de la Manche, free on market days from 9 am to 2.30 pm;
- the green zone on weekdays outside the school holidays and outside July and August, when parking there is free;
- the green zone during "Si le Touquet m'était conté", the Christmas event that starts in late November: parking there becomes free every day to make shopping easier.
The plan also shows spaces reserved for motorbikes and taxis, disabled parking spaces (including 46 on the seafront) and more than 30 electric vehicle charging points.
In season and out of season: what to expect
The calendar changes everything. Outside the school holidays, from Monday to Friday, only the centre is paid and you can easily find a space two streets away from rue Saint-Jean. Conversely, on sunny weekends, the May bank-holiday weekends and in summer, the areas around the seafront and the market fill up by late morning.
| Period | Red zone | Green zone | Our advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weekdays outside the holidays | Paid | Free | Park in the green zone, a few minutes' walk away |
| Weekends, long weekends, public holidays | Paid | Paid | Arrive before 10 am or aim for a free car park |
| School holidays, zones B and C | Paid | Paid | Stay rate or a free car park |
| July and August | Paid | Paid every day | Leave the car and get around on foot or by bike |
| Christmas event | Paid | Free | Make the most of the green zone for shopping |
On major event days, such as the Enduropale in February, traffic and parking are heavily disrupted around the beach: follow the town's instructions and arrive early. On market days (Thursday and Saturday mornings all year round, with extra markets during some holidays), the area around Le Touquet's covered market is very busy in the morning.
Paying: pay-and-display machine or the Flowbird app
Paid parking can be paid with a pay-and-display ticket, to be placed behind the windscreen, or via the Flowbird app, recommended by the tourist office. The app has two practical advantages:
- it recognises the pricing zone you are parked in, which avoids mix-ups between red and green;
- it lets you extend your parking remotely, from the beach or a café terrace, and only pay for the time you actually use.
Remember to check the road markings and signs when you arrive: the boundary between the red zone and the green zone sometimes runs down the middle of an avenue.
Residents, permits and long stays
Residents and local taxpayers of Le Touquet can take out an "all zones" permit on presentation of supporting documents. There is also a green zone permit, for which the town only asks for the vehicle registration document, with no proof of address: it may be of interest to regulars who come back often or to very long stays. These permits are paperless and can be bought online on the Garez-Vous website; check their period of validity and conditions before signing up.
For any questions, the town hall's parking department is based at the municipal police station, place Édouard-VII (03 21 06 72 87, stationnement@ville-letouquet.fr). For a one-week stay in a holiday rental, the cheapest option is often to park the car in a free car park or in the green zone on a weekday, then not touch it again.

Getting around without a car: on foot, by bike, by shuttle
Le Touquet is flat, compact and criss-crossed by cycle paths: once you've arrived, the car quickly becomes unnecessary.
On foot
The centre, the covered market, rue Saint-Jean and the seafront promenade are all within a few minutes of each other. From Villa Mon Étoile, for example, the beach is about 300 m away, rue Saint-Jean 200 m and the market just a few steps: you can do everything on foot.
By bike
The paths run through the forest and link the seafront, the baie de Canche, the golf course and the racecourse. Several hire shops offer standard bikes, e-bikes and children's equipment: see our guide to bike hire in Le Touquet.
By shuttle and bus
- The free "Mer et Forêt" shuttle loops around the resort (beach, covered market, town hall, Palais des congrès, Quentovic…) at weekends, on public holidays, on Thursday mornings and every day during French school holidays (zones B and C), with a break at lunchtime.
- A second free shuttle runs on Tuesday mornings to the Canche business park, handy for a big supermarket shop.
- The Caddy Express links Étaples-Le Touquet railway station to the resort, on booking and for a flat fare, from Thursday to Monday, according to train arrivals. So it is not a free shuttle: the conditions are set out on the tourist office's page.
- The local area buses (CA2BM) serve Étaples, Berck and the neighbouring beaches, with extra shuttles in summer.
For arriving by train or car, see also our guide on how to get to Le Touquet.
Charles's tip: if you arrive on a summer Friday evening or Saturday morning, unload your luggage in front of the accommodation, then go and park the car in the free car park at the equestrian park or on avenue Sanguet and walk back through the forest. You won't take it out again until you leave, and you'll never have to keep an eye on a parking ticket during the weekend.
